💉 Phlebotomy Technician Program

Purpose
To train students in the safe and effective collection of blood and other specimens for laboratory testing, which is a critical role in diagnostics and patient care.

Curriculum Coverage
⦁ Anatomy & physiology of the circulatory system
⦁ Venipuncture techniques and capillary punctures
⦁ Infection control and OSHA standards
⦁ Specimen collection, handling, and transportation
⦁ Patient interaction, safety, and confidentiality
⦁ Emergency procedures for complications (fainting, hematomas, etc.)

Certification Preparation
⦁ Meets the requirements for Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
⦁ May also prepare students for other national credentials (e.g., ASPT, NCCT).

Career Opportunities
Graduates may pursue roles as phlebotomists in hospitals, clinics, blood banks, and laboratories, as well as donor phlebotomy technicians and laboratory assistants.
